Laying of the Stone to commemorate 50 years of Kilsyth Civic Week. Young people (local bands, musicians) be performing at the event

Hub Reunion – 9 years on!

Celebration event to bring together young people who have attended the Learning Hub since it began. Young people currently at the Hub will also be involved.

Fire Service Input

Within clubs in Moodiesburn area during  November. Fire Service visits around time of bonfire night. There have been a number of issue with bonfires over the last few years and this initiative is scheduled to raise awareness amongst young people in the area.

A promotional event for young people who have expressed an interest in taking part in DofE

NL Challenge – Volunteering

Workshops developed by NL Challenge group around conditions young people have within Condorrat Primary School (e.g. celiac disease).

Personal Development Award Part 2

PDA 2 Course is aimed at people who are currently working or intend to work with young people. PDA 2 provides a foundation in youth work and will be followed in December by PDA 3 which is based on practice within a youth work setting.

​

Course will run within youth work week. 2 Sessions in Coatbrigde Community Center on 1 and 5 Nov and Residential in Lowport Outdoors Center 9 – 11 November.

​

PDA 1 will be delivered in April 2019. Those who complete all modules will gain the PDA in Youth Work award.

SQA course for school non-attenders

Course will involve young people who have been identified by schools in the area as non-attenders or who are still at school but would benefit from the course. The course will run over 4 days and will enable young people to gain 2 SQAs.

Location: MuirField Community Center

Intergenerational – Discovery group

Joint event with Pivot Youth clubs and the local Discovery group – young people will provide a tea and groups will share activities.
